About Randy

I caught the bass fishing bug at a very early age while spending my summers at our family cottage in the 1000 ISLANDS region of New York. I joined the local bass fishing club when I was 16 and automatically became a tournament angler which helped improve my skills. After getting better I wanted to prove myself at a higher level.

At the age of 25 I was New York B.A.S.S. Federation’s Angler of the Year. At the age of 35, I won a national Bassmaster tournament, winning the 2000 Florida Bassmaster Invitational on Lake Okeechobee. National tournament bass fishing had become my desired profession but being unable to make a living at it took it’s toll on my passion to compete.

Today I now realize this journey was a necessary part of developing the on the water instincts needed to be an effective guide. I now spend my time split between Florida and New York sharing what I have learned with others who are thrilled with pursuing and catching this popular sport fish.
